http://frippo.com/california/sanfrancisco/mary-alexander-associates-law-firm

http://frippo.com/component/jbusinessdirectory/companies/43

(indexed by Google)

http://frippo.com/california/san francisco/mary-alexander-associates-law-firm

(indexed by Google with %20, space between san francisco)

http://frippo.com///mary-alexander-associates-law-firm

(feed URL)

now using sh404SEF to redirect

http://frippo.com/california/san francisco/mary-alexander-associates-law-firm

towards

http://frippo.com/california/san-francisco/mary-alexander-associates-law-firm

but internal linking on pages is with the URL having space i.e san Francisco

not easy for google to index redirected page until fetched from webmaster.

Any SEO expert here for the solution?

All listing links are generated throgh the same function and having different URL for the same listing should not be possible.
Are you using Joomla Search plugins or Joomla Smart search plugins?

If you have sh404SEF extension installed you could use it to generate all links in the directory.
We provide a shs404SEF integration plugin to optimize the link generation with sh404SEF.

Hi George,  No I am not using any Joomla search plugin.

> Instead of pre-defined categories I have choosed the Region option in the general setting option.

> Choosing region option in URL creates a space between two user defined cities.

> To eliminate the space I am using sh404SEF.

> But internal linking is as it is with space in pages.

I have also checked with your demo admin panel and it has the same issue that you are not aware of.

Choosed region option instead of categories in your admin demo and got the below URL.  Space between cottage grove.

http://demo.cmsjunkie.com/directory/j-directory/oregon/cottage%20grove/yacht-club

http://demo.cmsjunkie.com/directory/j-directory/oregon/cottagegrove/yacht-club

Please also check this one...  http://demo.cmsjunkie.com/directory/j-directory/component/jbusinessdirectory/companies/29

But if you said we can eliminate this with sh404SEF. Yes, I have done with it. But the problem is with internal linking which still shows space between the cities. Which is not good as per SEO point of view.

Hope you take my concern seriously.

Thanks

I' m looking to a solution to fix this too ..

this SH404sef is a good extension? I see it's payd and don't want just to throw money away

Is it possible to change the URL estruture for the business as

https://site.com/city/category/business-name

still waiting for the solution of my queries?

Another problem - Google is indexing keywords. If we write 5 keywords while listing business then Google with index 5 URL's using keywords.

Just say I am not satisfied with the SEO friendliness of your business directory. The business website has no worth if it's not SEO friendly.

Hope you have solutions to my concerns, if not please improve with the next update.

Thanks

@Fabio - sh404SEF is a good extension. We provide also an integration with this extension.

@viki - we will check the issues reported and we will fix them in the next version.

Hi, has anything further been done about this? I'm currently trying to optimise SEO on my site, and the above mentioned issues are causing problems for me.
