J-BusinessDirectory - Non-registered users

Support Forum

I believe that the way business registration works has changed, and non-registered are able to create listings.  I use Community Builder registration.

What happens now is that an unregistered user creates a listing, they are presented with a login/register screen.  When they complete the registration and log back in, the listing they created isn't available because it isn't attached to their profile.

In order to make this work, I have to go into the backend, attach the listing to their profile and update their group membership.

Am I right in thinking that it is a change in functionality that wasn't communicated?  I re-read the documentation and it sounds like the user has to be registered before they can create a listing.

Has anyone else noticed this?  Or did I miss something and this isn't a change?

I've submitted a support ticket and escalated it, but haven't gotten a response.

What are your setting at the following location:

   - JBD > General Settings > User settings

Allow automatic user creation = No

Custom registration = Yes

Generate user account when completing an order = No

Show suggestions = No

End user - user group = Registered

Business owner user group = Advertiser

Mobile registration user group = Registered

Have you tried Allow automatic user creation = Yes ?

Hi,

No matter what settings are used the user should be associated with the business listing.
The registration has been moved after the listing is created to encourage the users to create the business listings.
We will add also the option to require the registration before adding a listing.

Thank you for adding that option. Any idea how long it will take to show up in production?  I had two users create a listing and then register, and their profiles were not associated with the listing.  I had to log into the backend, manually associate them to the listing, and then update their user group before they could see their listing.

Maybe since we use the Community Builder registration form it doesn't work the way you've described.
