For SEO purposes I'd like to populate pages containing e.g. the top 10 listings in a city.  The city name needs to be contained in the url. So basically ONE page for each city. How can I achieve this with JBD?

P.S. I'm using the POST Method in the search form

Hi,

You can create different menu items of type Business listing and choose the city from menu item settings. The menu item alias can contain the city and you can also set the meta info according to your needs.
The menu items can be visible or hidden.

George, in my case it would be impractical to create a business listing page for every city that has listings. We got about 22,000 cities in the database.

Also I tried your suggestion with a menu item with ONE city but it threw a gateway timeout error so there must be sth. off with the underlying SQL.

Anyhow what I need is to resolve a url similar to this:

www.myjbddomain.com/[cityName] that spits out a page with the top x (x=10) listings in that city using the standard listings view as specified.

How can I achieve this?

Hi,

For showing the listing in a city you can use www.myjbddomain.com/city/[cityName]

I also tried your suggestion on your demo site and it didn't work there either.

Can you advice?  Thanks for your help.

Ah that's a different link structure than mentioned before... Anyhow - I tried that too. Doesn't work as it throws a timeout on our site.

Have you tried that on a database with 40,000 listings?

I guess my option will be to create our own page with custom php code to pull it directly from the database.

Or whatelse could I try.
