J-BusinessDirectory - Cannot make re-ordered custom attributes 'stick'

They just spring back to the order in which they were created. (not sure what day you check the forum, but this is a problem.)

Did you test with an other browser? I could not order the categories in firefox, but it worked in chrome (for example).

Hi, Susanne. I did try other browsers, and even re-ordering in SQL also didn't stick. I had partial success - i clicked to toggle 'active' the attribute field I wanted to move, not usually the way Joomla works, then in a separate tab used Akeeba to rebuild databases. That got it fixed on the front end, but some back end items remain maddeningly out of order. (But at least the front end is right, so progress!) [edit: I have also been clearing browser, joomla, and server caches throughout.]

Congrats! Good to know the crazy way you made it, could help other people here, seems you are a person that never gives up ;-)

Hi,

The order of the custom attributes is the order that is set on the custom attributes section.
You have to click on the 2 arrow icon and then drag & drop items.

Hi George. I have been doing that. Nothing seems to work predictably - though grouping things seems to at least keep them together, if not ordered the way one would expect. (I'm also used to seeing an 'order' select box in this kind of Joomla back end interface, where I could simply select the desired preceeding item. However, I realize as a component, JBD sometimes has to employ its own methods.)

[edit - I get up this morning, and the back end has all gone back to order of creation. nothing sticks in the UI - no way I could turn this over to a client.]
