It would be very useful for updates: you would publish (separately) a list of new words for translation.That way we could just add the new words. And preserving our own existing translations.It is a suggestion.

You can add your own translations to the custom area on the language file. In this way, your modifications will not be overwritten.

Yes this is the way to go Marcus so you will always have your own "customization" as you like :)
