J-BusinessDirectory - Offer / Event Newsletters in JBD

Hello everyone!

We use the JBD, specifically its "Offers" section, also to allow companies to post job opportunities. Unfortunately, there is no way to subscribe to offers or events via a newsletter. This means users are forced to repeatedly check the site for updates.

There is already a marketing tool, but it is very limited in functionality and not really suitable for effective marketing.

Technically, one could set up something using an external newsletter campaign (Acymailing REST API + RSS), but that would not be ideal either. It would be much better if users could configure a system where certain new items (e.g. offers) would trigger a newsletter to subscribers, for example once a week—such as especially only to those looking for jobs in North Rhine-Westphalia (a German federal state), or events within X km of their location, when the new items meet their criteria. Essentially, this would allow users to save a search and receive email notifications, similar to what you know from eBay or Indeed.

Such a feature would really enhance a job portal.

I am not sure whether this is already possible with J-Classifieds. But even if it is, I assume that an entry there would only be linked to a Joomla user, not to a company from the JBD. Maybe a solution could be to enable such a connection if J-Classifieds already supports the desired features mentioned above.

Both solutions (either directly in JBD or as an integration with Classifieds) could also work well as a paid add-on.

Would something like that be feasible?
