J-BusinessDirectory - Editing events

How do you edit events as a non-Business owner once it is published. It does not seem to work. Either I do it from the back-end or I have to delete the event in front-end and publish a new one. Editing offers is no problems.

Thanksin advance.

Correct, I tested the same with 5.4.1RC and same result.

In addition:

- If Offer/Events decoupled from Listing, a bit confusing if still have option to select Listing, special when isn't working.

- When using View function in Frontend for offers, receive This item is unavailable  (Events is working).

Interesting question, but how do you add events as a non-Business owner in frontend?

Edit: *** After reading your question again, not sure if below is the answer you are looking for ***

CMSJunkie is implementing this in new version 5.4.x

You can download 5.4.1RC and start some testing, note isn't Stable version yet, so don't use in live environment.

You will find the option Item decouple in General Settings -> General Settings

In addition:

- User can Add Event from Dashboard or Direct Link and create an event without linking to listing

- For what I understand, if you have lisitng, you can select Hosted By: or leave option open and create Event not linked.

Thank you for your fast answer, this seems to be what i was awaiting and looking for :) I will try this as soon as possible. But what is the direct link? I could not find a new menu for adding an event.

Correct, I assumed there are menu options to Add Offer / Event, but still missing...

Not sure how this will be handled in future, as in new setup will be different Dashboards for listing owners and users. Of course you can show Listing owner Dashboard to all users, but will be very confusing when they see all other options..

Great news: J-BusinessDirectory v5.4.2 stable released :) But this addingeventwithoutlisting feature is not listed neither documentated for this or last release. even if i think that is a big step for the component.

By the way, i cant bookmark a topic in this forum. Clicking the button does nothing. Can you?

No, bookmark (on this forum) isn't working

Adding an event as non business owner, but registered user, in frontend might only be possible with own ACL for this in backend, isnt it?

Hi,

In order for a user to publish events and offers without having a business, you have to set "Item decouple" to yes in the directory.

Item decouple: when set to yes, will allow offers and events to be shown independently from listings.

The online user manual has been updated as well.

Hi George,

But there is only Menu Type Item for Add Business, no MTI for Add Offer / Add Event

If user is registered and has access to User Controlpanel only, how can user Add event?

/Robert

Hi,

The user that will have the possibility to add offers and events should have access to the business owner Control Panel.
We will add also Add offer and Add event menu item types.

@Unser1983  Still unable to edit Events from frontend, also some issue at backend.

Suggest you submit support ticket

its me Unser1983

Thanks for your reply.

I sent a Ticket. They will fix it asap (next release). Many thanks
