I need to display the short description of the company here (list view)

Overrides is an option? if so, which file should I modify?

#1 Modification cannot be done using override. You have to edit {joomla}\components\com_jbusinessdirectory\include\companies-list-view.php

#2 You can use overide on views/companies.
