J-BusinessDirectory - Problems adding businesses to the directory

Hi

I am starting to use the directory and am having problems with adding businesses to the site.

I have added some local businesses to the site but when i log in to test the "Claim My Business" option as a registered used there is a search bar to enter the name of the business, but when i go to the company i want to claim ownership of, there is no button to claim the company, just the normal directory listing of that company.

In the manual it says that all i have to do is create the listing and then registered users can claim the ownership, but this is not working.

How can i fix this? and also is there a way i can create the companies, create a password and then forward this password to the business owner for them to edit their listing?

If the user has already a company assigned he cannot claim other company.

You can create the companies and send the business owners the user/password, but this has to be done manually.

Thanks George. When i create the companies in the admin page, there is no option to create a user and password. What is the process for creating the companies, user and passwords?

Hi,

Usually the user has to register and then he creates the business listings. If you create the business listings from admin area you will have to create the user manually or leave it blank in order for the business owner to claim the company.
