J-BusinessDirectory - YooTheme Pro / JBD Review

Support Forum

FYI

I purchased a subscription for YouTheme Pro a month ago.

Here are my overall impressions:

   1. Support: The support is the worse I have seen as they do NOT respond to tickets. They only responded to my ticket after I requested a refund. Afterward, much time passed and the issue was not resolved.

   2. Fixes: I found another bug that was confirmed by CMS. Again support did not respond to my ticket until I requested a refund. Afterward, support requested I install a 3rd Party plugin to fix the bug. The third-party extension had no documentation and did not even work. When I tried to open the plugin's webpage. my virus protection kicked in advising me not to visit the webpage as it did not have https.

   3. Bugs: Also, YooTheme Pro is not compatible with JBD. With another bug, CMS again confirmed that this bug was not present in Joomla's default template. Basically, the bug caused many JBD's pages to crash when using MS Edge. I did not even report this bug as I did not want to bother with their support again.

   4. Caching: YooTheme Pro indicates that their theme is not compatible with Joomla's Page Cache plugin. I researched this and found this issue has existed for a long time but the issue has not been fixed to date.

I have similar problems with YooTheme PRO.

DEV team are overloaded becose they changed compatibility and are still in debug mode.

It still 300€ from my poket going to an other lousy customer support !!!

Thank you for your feedback.
It may help others as well.

yes thks for report

I believe that YooTheme Pro is written by geniuses.

Umbaliable, features, functions, and very easy to learn.

It truly makes professional-looking websites.

However, their support needs improvements.

Once admin was involved. a kid from support argued with me saying it was an 'appearance issue', NOT a bug.

I replied that it was confirmed by another 'developer' (CMS) and that it was illogical that one would design their pagination without access to page "5".

Actually, I purchased YooTheme Pro twice.

I first purchased it two years ago and reported several bugs.

I created tickets and never received a reply.

I requested a refund and they failed to respond.

I thought to try again since it was back in the J3 to J4 transition period but again had the same results.

I am currently working with a lady from their administration team to correct their MS Edge page freezing bug.

It really looks like they are now taking things much more seriously now.

However, I doubt I will make a switch back to them as it would take too long.

Using, Helix Ultimate now as it is the best available option out there.

I looked at helix but thought the cost was a bit high, I'm new to using this cms listing componet.

If anyone wants to play with Template Creator CK, send me an email cctaco@gmail.com I can create a login for you.  It allow you to generate/create a template and upload it to your site.

I'm just learning it and could use help if anyone can help me figure it out.

Their support was fast yesterday as I installed an update and the Template Creator CK quit working.

Yootheme customer since 2010...and would like to react about these complains

MY FIRST QUESTION IS: Is it a JBD/YoothemePro review or a post about YoothemePro and the J-BusinessDirectory Reviews addon ??

   1. Support: The support is the worse I have seen as they do NOT respond to tickets. They only responded to my ticket after I requested a refund. Afterward, much time passed and the issue was not resolved.

YES, support team is sometimes quick to respond, most of the time very slow.

BUT we all want instant reply and it is a bad habit we have.

Since 2010 ALL my questions received a reply, ask yourself why yours did not...

Is the YoothemePro the culprit or is it a badly written component installed that needs a 3rd party to make it work... Just asking myself a simple question...

About an existing bug between YTPro and CMSJunkie, I personally did not face any.

A) ABSOLUTELY FALSE !! YoothemePro and JBD ARE compatible, using both since 2020 and no issue.

B) MS Edge is also mentioned here, isn't it one of /or the / worst browser?

C) You can not complain when you don't ask for support...

   4. Caching: YooTheme Pro indicates that their theme is not compatible with Joomla's Page Cache plugin. I researched this and found this issue has existed for a long time but the issue has not been fixed to date.

Investigate a liittle more and you will discover YoothemePro has its own cache system.

YoothemePro and YOOtheme are not perfect and there is certainly room for improvements - true, support reaction time could be improved - true, their coding and site speed are great - true.

YoothemePro is far better than others listed above (you will learn it the hard way in the long run when using them).
