I wanted to make the developers and fellow license holders aware of an issue I encountered.
When I updated to the new version of JBusiness Directory, all of the descriptions for paying clients had vanished.
Not only that, but a Private package had been made visible to the Public. Not good.
The changes that happened were to the Packages options.
While we admire and appreciate the new visuals, the tabs, and a couple of new functions, such as Life-time, be careful that newly introduced code does not change admin options.
That's all, I've resolved this issue, it was just shocking. I wanted to document the instance in case anyone else encountered the problem, so they would know the resolution.
Hi,
Thank you for your feedback.
Updating to a higher version does not change the content of the items.
There have been no changes related to packages description. There must have been an issue with your website.
For the packages, after the update, the type is not set. It appears to be set as lifetime because that's the default value.
We have modified the mechanism to default to fixed type when updating.
RIT, Thanks for your post. I'm updating from 4.5.5 and ran into the same issue with the descriptions being removed from package features, though my package duration remained the same.
I noticed that the listings that have expired paid packages are no longer listed in the search results. Before they were listed but with the free package features. Haven't found the setting that corrects that yet.
Edit: My basic listing needed to be changed to lifetime and that fixed expired packages
Hi,
You're welcome.
We'll look further into why some users experience the description being removed from the packages.
In regards to the expired package please make sure that the free, basic package is still enabled at the time of expiry and businesses are assigned to that package.
Hi,
Starting with version 4.8.0 we have introduced some new features on packages.
The most important feature is the package type. After the update, it is recommended to configure the packages again.
