J-BusinessDirectory - Usability problem since optimizations

I'm a bit unhappy with the recent optimizations made to the registration process, specifically regarding the company listing process. You've removed the map display and merged the address search field with the street input field. This has caused confusion for quite a few users.

Firstly, it's confusing that the map is no longer displayed. Users can no longer verify during the listing process whether their geolocation has been successful. As a result, incorrect entries have become increasingly common, and I now frequently have to correct the geolocation when reviewing and approving listings. Otherwise, the listing is simply assigned to the geographic center of Germany, which obviously makes no sense.

In my opinion, merging the address search with the street input field was not a good idea. Users have to enter more than just the street name in the street field in order to see address suggestions.But if a field only asks me to enter a street, it's only natural that I’ll enter just the street. I did change the hint text accordingly, but it still often goes unnoticed. And why wouldn’t it? We all fill out online forms every day where we have to enter our address. I don’t read the hints in those either.

However, many now only enter their street name, as there are separate fields further down for other address components such as city, postal code, and country. Consequently, I'm now often encountering users who only entered their street name, didn’t receive any address suggestions, filled in the remaining address fields below, and are then surprised upon approval that their listing has incorrect geolocation.

I would therefore recommend:

• Introducing a separate field for the address search again, rather than combining it with the street input field

• Displaying the map again during the listing process—or at least making this optionally configurable—so that users can see whether their geolocation is correct

For now, you can disable the simple add form and the map will be back. We will add the map also for the simple form in the next release.
For address autocomplete, we got feedback from multiple clients that it would be better to merge it with the address field.
