It has been a while since you posted this post.
I had the same problem.
Don't know if it's still needed but I solved the problem with CSS code.
I placed the following code in custom css of the helix template.
# sp-page-builder .page-content .sppb-section, # sp-page-builder .sppb-section {z-index: auto! important;}
.sppb-row-container {z-index: auto;}
It works in the Helix 3 and in the Helix Ultimate template.
