J-BusinessDirectory - Best practice for new directory?

Support Forum

Hello, i am starting a new directory and wonder, what will be best practice, if i want to show for example following categories: kat-1, kat-2, kat-3.

Is it clever to have all these categories directly in top level of the directory, or does it make sense, to have one big category at top level and kat-1, kat-2 and kat-3 as subcategories?

Is there anything i should think about for later comfort to work with?

Thank you and best regards

Difficult question though. You dont know how many subcategories you will have and what type of directory and categories you will do?

I think you should do it like in the demo, so the visitors can get to their target fast. Every click too much is too much. And for the users who add an entry it's easier finding the right sub-categories.

Hello ssnobben ans Susanne, thank you for your input on this. Yes, i am working on a local directory and dont know yet, what categories i will add in next time. So it is not easy to decide. I try to keep it simple ;)
