J-BusinessDirectory - Menu Item id

In Application settings there is a field to enter a menu item id.

Which menu item's id should be entered here?

Hi,

You should enter the menu item that is associated with the directory, if any.

If you do not associated a menu item some modules might not be loaded in directory pages.

Thanks George, but the thing is, i have a numerous menus associated with the directory component.

So say i want the Jbusinesscategories module to show up on  a side module of a product listing, how would i achive that?

I want to place the catogories on a side module on a page like this

How would i do that?

Hi Dale,

The menu item in the application settings is usually set for search results to have better controll on page modules.

The categories filter is places inside the component.

If you want to activate categories module you have to deactivate the search filter, create a menu item for directory, set the menu item id in application settings. assign the categories module to the item id.
