J-BusinessDirectory - Modern Routing Mechanism

Support Forum

hello

yes the post is old but when the Jsitemap support try to fix it they told us the same. This is the reason not have standar sitemap data source for JBD. To work the Jsitemap with JBD must use the plugin.

Also if we put again the JcomponentRouterRules menu now it will work?

You have the backend access to try it.

The change where you make it was because in xml sitemap the urls is not correct untill today. Is not special configuration when the user is in one page the url be the correct. This is one with k2: https://athens-dayandnight.gr/more/taxidia/apodrasi-stin-oreini-nafpaktia

this is on with JBD when Joomla seo is on:  https://athens-dayandnight.gr/cafe-bar-club/kafeneia-athina-peiraia/agrotikon the bolt is what user see in every company details. The link no follow the category that user is, but the first from menu  in joomla main menu. This is our problem. We have 200 companies and in search all feeds is like Kafeneia-athina-peiraia and the company is bar or cafe or rest.

The same problem we have when the Jamp is on with JDB. Many 404 or urls with message : not have permition to see this company.

Here we are  to help if we can to make your perfect component more better, no for make bad comment ;-)

Hi,

I'm very curious to find out, how did you make the categories (main & child) to be SEF?!

For many years I used the "JBD SEO Mechanism" and after seeing this post I wanted to test the "Joomla SEO Mechanism" and see how it goes.

Situation:

1. I've created a "Show Categories" menu item with no id written in "Category id" and "Category Type" set to "Business Listings", called "Business Categories". This menu is in "Parent Item" - "Menu Item Root"

2. In JBD business categories, I've created a main category called "Travel" and a child category called "Hotels"

My expectations:

1. When a user access the "Business Categories" menu item, the business categories are displayed and the URL is like "domain/business-categories". This is OK.

2. When the user clicks the main category "Travel", then the URL must be "domain/travel"

3. When a user access the "Hotels" subcategory then the URL must be "domain/travel/hotels"

4. When a user view a business and clicks on the category displayed in that page, then the URL loaded must be:

     a) if the category clicked is a main one, then the URL must be "domain./main-category-alias"

     b) if the category is a child, then the URL loaded must be "domain/main-category/child-category"

Conclusion: What I noticed is that, when you click on the category, the URL displayed is always in this format "domain?categoryId=16" . (16 is the category ID)

Did you achieved something else? If yes, please create a step by step guide. Thanks.

It is November 2024 and I am shocked to realise that the ?categorySearch=3 issue has been around for years with nothing done on it.

FWIW I use 4SEF as a partial solution:-
step 1:  edit xxx.com/vehicles?categorySearch=3 to something more meaningful such as the category name eg /vehicles/cars or put the category page on a menu

step 2:  redirect /vehicles?categorySearch=3 to /vehicles/cars

The downside is you still have a problem with orphan pages because all the category links on the summary listings page and even on the detail listing still say ?categorySearch=3

Genuine question for CMSJunkie:- why have you not fixed the router to deal with categories and types in all these years?
