J-BusinessDirectory - Menu item & Map issues

Support Forum

Hi, I've purchased the Jbusiness Directory component and it is a great piece of software and does what I need it for. However it does have a couple of issues and I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help to find a solution to these:

1. Menu item to the categories - I need the ability to select an individual category in the menu item.

2. When entering a company's details, the Google map doesn't update with the address entered. You have to find the coordinates from Google manually and paste them in - not the easiest way of doing things. Is it possible for this to happen automatically?

3. I have the SEO turned on, but the urls to the categories and sub-categories are not SEO friendly - will there be an update for this soon?

Many Thanks

Jaz

4. The postcode of a company's location is not shown on the listings and is also not accessible in the map. How can this be shown to the user?

Hi,

1. For the moment it is not possible. We will include a menu item in the next verison to allow this.

2. If you enter the address in the autocomplete input all address details along with map coordinates should be completed automatically.

3. We will enhance the SEO mechanism in the next version. We will make it more friendly.

4. We will include postal code also in front-end. For the moment it is used just by the site administrator to contact the companies.

Hi.

1. I found a work around for this but it would still be good to see it in the new version - will this we released soon?

2. The map does populate from the coordinates, but the coordinates do not fill automatically from the address entered. This is annoying as it means searching google for the coordinates and pasting them in. Is there not a solution to this?

3.Good to hear.

4. Can you tell me which files I need to edit to show this on the front end? users of my website will need these details for their satnavs.

Thanks

I can live with the other issues until the next release, however, I need to able to show users postcodes. I've managed to do this in the search results by editing include/companies_views.php

Can you tell me which file I need to edit show the postcode on the company page please? I've tried the views with no luck.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

For anyone else who is tearing their hair out over this.. view overrides in your template folder do not work - you need to edit the file itself!!

Jaz,  I was wondering if you would share your work around for Menu items.  I need to display advertisements in the Directory and need to ensure that I can choose not to display in a certain category.
