J-BusinessDirectory - Unable to download the New Business Directory

I can not find the new Business Directory listed in My Downloadable Products. The most recent I have is 2.4.2. How do I download the new directory?

I also tried using the updater  and I entered the order ID numer for my 5 month extension and my email and I got the error message: Unable to Retrieve Update. 

I have never updated from back end yet, so I am not 100% sure of the best way to do it.

Hi Barry,

 

You support period has expired and you cannot update with the latest version. You have to renew your support on http://www.cmsjunkie.com/j-businessdirectory-support-update and use order id and order e-mail from support product.

That is not true. I have purchased a 5 month extension on 4/6/14 for $74.25  Please help me.

Have you entered order id and e-mail in the update section of our component in administration area?

I am also unable to update, or download the new product. Yes, I've added my order number and email address to the directory updates area. No, it's not in the downloadable products section of my account - so I can't download it manually. I left you an "offline" message yeterday about this. No response. I only purchased this product on 24th April, and it's proving to be one giant pain in the ass after another. I've owned and operated a variety of large and profitable web directories, and can see that this has all the the makings of a really good directory extension. You need to support it with better douemntation and better direct support guys!

We contacted you after 1 minute after you post the offline message.

There was no reponse from your side. Maybe you entered a wrong e-mail address or the e-mail is in your spam folder.

For most of our users the update has been done successfully, but is some cases it hasn't. Automatic update is a new feature in our product and we are checking to provide solutions for all our customers.

Thanks George. I did in fact get the email just now, but can see that you sent it when you said that you did. Maybe it's a server issue on my end with that. My apologies. I've also gotten the new version that you sent to me. I do have many suggestions to make this extension better. I will write a detailed report when I'm done with developing the new diirectory that I'm using this for and will email it to you. My main frustration relates to the language files. They are an absolute mess, and many text areas have proven to be extremely difficult to locate and edit. Even now, I have still not managed to locate an editable file which has any effect on the text contained in the "INFO" pop-up that appears when you click "Claim Listing". I think too that the "flow" with registrations and initial logins could be improved markedly. Anyway, I'll tell you all about that when I email. Just the same and despite my frustrations, I think its a really good extension, thus far. :-)

@Tony Gavin: To translate all you need a good search tool on your local hard drive.

Some tekst is in php files, but some small things are alsow in JS or compressed JS (like rating system). count to loose some time with detailed translation.

Alsow front end nad back end files are not seperated.

 

Speaking of downloading new version I can't find download for members. Dear CMS-junkie team do something about this.

The update to our latest version can be done directly from your server by using our update section. You have to fill in the order id and order e-mail  and then do the update.

I know that, but I modified a lot of php files translation, css, some minor js translations etc...

If I do like you sugested everything will be overwriten. Please send me a update to mail or send me the link to download.
