J-BusinessDirectory - Language file for listing search?

Support Forum

The module, JBusinessDirectory Listing Search, creates a map on the frontend. One of the search fields is "All Provinces". I need to change that label in the language file that contains it.  I looked for it in the backend JBD>General Settings>Languages>English. However it is not there.

Does anyone know what language file contains this label? If I change it in that language file will it be overwritten when upgrading?

It should be possible to override the language key LNG_ALL_PROVINCES (Override on Site)

You can create a new language override in your own language using the same language key that is used in the English language. More information about language overrides can be found on the web.

And no, language overrides cannot normally be overwritten during updates if the same key is used after the update.

I got a notification that you asked for the place where you can find the LNG_ALL_PROVINCES but your post seems to be deleted. You don't need to edit manually any file. Go in your browser to yoursite.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_languages&view=overrides. Make a new override for LNG_ALL_PROVINCES in your language. It will work.

Thank you Susanne -

That worked. If you have the information at hand and it is no trouble, can you please tell me the name of the language file where the language key LNG_ALL_PROVINCES is found. I looked for it but could not locate it. Thanks again.

With some editors like Notepad++ you can search inside files for keywords.

I always try not to edit any core files. There are plugins which can help you override things before html output without changing any files like regularlabs rereplacer, but always try to find a solution via usual overrides before.

Thank you, once again, Susanne for your time as well as your very clear and helpful replies.

Great to see your help here Susanne. Thks.

I also have one question maybe do a separate post for it but its about removing jquery unecessary scripts for Joomla JBD etc Its a article here but do you have any tips how to do it practically? https://alterbrains.com/blog/how-remove-useless-jquery-scripts-in-joomla

Was thinking of Regular labs extensions if that could be used?

Cheers!

Yes, you can do it with regular labs rereplacer. Create a new replacement. Insert the whole line with the script call of the header into the first field and let the second field empty. Let it be searched in the header in the replacement options. If you want to replace it only on special pages you need to buy the pro version. In some cases it does not work together with other plugins, so maybe you must change the order of the plugin or ask the regularlabs team for help.

In rereplacer for head tags sometimes the option "remove surrounding paragraphs" is helpful.

But you could do it with the plugin jquery easy too. There is an option to remove unwanted files.

Hi,

The JBD modules have their own translation files.
Since version 5.4.2 we have added more languages for each module.
LNG_ALL_PROVINCES text identifier can be found on en-GB.mod_jbusiness_listings_search.ini file or the corresponding translation files.
