J-BusinessDirectory - Only show categories with listings or show how many listings in categories/subcategories or both settings

Hi there is a huge user experience problem for a directory that have many categories but few listings or no listings, that many directories will have when starting up. I and others dont want to browse to a site with many categories and drill down just to find there is nothing there! waist of time...

So a must have solution is to have 2 options and that is to show only main/sub categories where there is any listings or have a system to show how many listings there are in categories and subcategories.

Example show how many listings in directories ideally work with both these improvements show listings numbers and only categories that have listings:

Main category (199)

- subcategory 1 (99)

- subcategory 2 (100)

- etc

I'm not using myself, but is the setting in General Setting: "Show the total number of businesses in a category"   ?

@Robert Bal you are correct. There is a setting "Show the total number of businesses in a category" that will show the number of listing in a main category.
Currently, the number of listings is not shown for the second level of categories.

As now this setting make it show all categories and then after showing 10 categoris you got a (+) sign under to show the rest.

What I mean is that not show the categories that dont have any listing similar like this https://dj-extensions.com/images/Blog3/hide-empty-cat.png and the show the how many listings you have in each main and subcategory.

Then people will not be frustrated to click on categories where there is not listings..but you still can add new listings for categories not visible in the front...

If you are referring to the search filter, the categories shown there are only categories that have listings associated.
In the categories page, it is not taken into count if there are any listings associated with the category.
