J-BusinessDirectory - Remove Listing ID from URL

Support Forum

I've got the directory properly set up and I've got the search box using the ID of the menu item created so it changes the url to have my directory name.  When searching for anything, if there is a result, it will pull in the url like this:

/directory/search/177-garage-doors-and-openers.html

And then, the business listing page will have this url:

/directory/companies/201-ameriserv-garage-doors.html

In the general settings, I have "Add id in url" set to No, I have the "J-BusinessDirectory Url Translator enabled, SEF and URL rewriting are both set to Yes.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

You can control the id in the url only if SEO is set to yes in directory general settings.

If SEO is set to no the links are controlled by Joomla.

When SEO is set to yes, it throws the page into a redirect loop, I had to follow the support to turn that off to make the page show.  Is there really no other way?  I can force it in htaccess but I'd like this directory that I just paid for to work properly.

Hi,

Setting SEO to yes should work without any issues. There might be a conflict with another extension. Do you have other SEF extensions? You can also disable Joomla SEF for testing and see how it goes.

This is a completely fresh Joomla install, 3.4.3, with no other extensions or plugins installed. Turning off Joomla sef and turning on J Directory seo, the listings urls redirect to the home page with broken images, as someone has reported being an issue already.  It appears as though the only actual fix is to rewrite the urls in htaccess or just deal with the item ids in them.

Hi,

Maybe there are some settings from your hosting provider that interfere with this. Can you create a ticket on our store and provide us joomla admin access? We will check this.
