J-BusinessDirectory - Why are the menu links so long?

Just trying to understand why the menu links are so long. For example the Contact (on top right) menu item (which I've changed from an article link to the actual CONTACT link) Instead of just being index.php/contact
turns out to be . .
index.php/manage-banners/manage-reviews/manage-reviews/contact

I'm just trying to understand this. It feels funny that it has all those sub directories??? Perhaps there is a parameter I need to set globally to see the link as index.php/contact?

The links are generated automatically by Joomla based on parent and alias.

You can turn Search Engine Friendly URLs and Use URL rewriting on in general configuration of Joomla to make the links shorter.
