Did anyone test the new version with "Listings site map - a new sitemap for listing is available based on the category and city."

And what you think? I like the idea of combination of category and city site map too. Its great.

But I gave up you cant choose the two combination in backend, check one and then the other but the the first one jump off.

I dont really like the view design of it ..but bcs its a menu I can use/create a "special" site map like this with Jsite map I guess.  :)

Cheers!

ps fix the missing constant translation too.

I see the value in it, but not crazy about it as is. Doesn't provide a option to select just the City for example, and there are no canned formatting options. I wouldn't mind seeing this feature as a module as well.

The listings map is for search engines to index the listings based on city and category, not for the users to browse it.

ok so you mean we can use it with a Joomla hidden menu and this JBD SEO will really boost SERPs for search engines with that combination?

hmm like category: restaurants location: New York

If I have 6 languages I need 6 more menus then :)

Yes, it should be a hidden menu item with a link somewhere on the website.
It is just for search engines exposure.

It would be more useful as a module say as a footer on pages and this way it won't interfere with an actual site map that has articles and menu mapings

How exactly is this feature used:

   A. Have two sitemaps (1) our current sitemap, and (2) the JBD sitemap?

   B. Is this a replacement for our current sitemaps?

   C. How should this sitemap be added to Joomla's Robot.txt file:

       1. The only site map on Robot.txt

       2. Two Sitemaps on our Robot.txt file (see A above)

       3. Not on the Robot.txt file

I need to learn more about this subject.

Yes, that is called the JBD Locations Module, found here:

   - URLJ-BusinessDirectory Locations Module (cmsjunkie.com)

At one point, I purchased and tested it out:

   1. It only categorizes by Country / Region (USA / Washington, Oregon, California)

   2. It does not categorize by Regions / Cities (Washington / Seattle, Vancouver, Spokane)

   3. Formatting issues on mobile casing different Country / Regions columns to combine

   4. Does not work with limit cities and regions set to yes in general settings.

CMS did do some fixes but not sure what exactly. I gave up on the module after CMS indicated: "It will be fixed but it has a low priority for now"

Maybe, George can give us an update on what was or was not fixed and if it is still working at all?

The location module is not working yet with limit cities/regions.
The sitemap feature was introduced just as a default sitemap if there is none. It should be used to have a better exposure to the search engines.

George,

I bet JSiteMap Pro already has the feature to separate data by like everything.

There are pretty fancy settings allowing users to pull almost everything from their database?

JSiteMap Pro is an elite developer and is always very willing to answer all questions if anyone wants to ask them?

Also, why not just improve the JSiteMap > JBD pluggin to include the feature?

Can anyone confirm this?

The JBD site map is not to compete with JSiteMap, it is to offer an alternative for the ones who do not have the extension.

I have checked the JSitemap extension but I could not figure how to generate the categories sitemap like on the new JBD site map.
Does anybody know on how to do this?

I hope CMS evaluates JBD and SEO on J4 as there have been many changes after J3.

I think one has to create a "New Data Source":

I also think one needs to enter the data request here:

I do notice JBD DOES NOT HAVE a "Available Predefined Data Sources for Common Extensions" shown in above Image #1.

However, JBD does have a "Data Sources Plugins for Third-Party Apps", as shown here:

Does anyone have an elaborate JBD setup with JSiteMap Pro?

However, the above is only half of the problem.

What would be great if there were metadata tags that could be inserted in the metadata (1) title, (2) description, and (3) categroies like Flynax is doing, such as:

   - [country]

   - [city]

   - [price]

   - [region]

   - [category]

   - [year]

So admins can make metadata titles such the following which is all automatically without the assistance of front-end users:

   - Metadata Title: [year] [make] [model] for [Category] in [region], [city] for Only [price].

   - Front End Metadata Title: 1990 Camery for Sale in Seattle, Queen Anne District for Only $10,000

Hi George. Where do we find the JBD site map?
