J-BusinessDirectory - Registration process setup/error

Support Forum

Hi everyone,

I was trying to setup the following process for my website:

* Normal visitor can search and navigate on website, the only thing he/she can't do is post reviews (usergroup = guest)

* A visitor that wants to post a review, so creation of profile is necessary (usergroup = customer). Nothing more. Functionality in dashboard section (after login) should be limited = no possibility to see business listings, offers,..

* A visitor that wants to register his business, by clicking on the "Add listing" button. (usergroup = business). Full functionality of dashboard section.

I already created the usergroups and changed the general settings in the directory:

* registration usergroup = end customer

* business usergroup = business

Now, when I am testing my website and click on "add listing", I get the possibility to choose a package. So that's fine. I choose the package, whereafter I get the possibility to login or the register a business account. Also logic.

Then I fill in all details for account registration (name, password, e-mail,...). When clicking on add account, I get the following error: "Could not start mailfunction" and "An error encountered while sending activation notification email". On top of that, the user is linked to the usergroup "end customer" instead of "Business".

What did I wrong and how do I setup this correctly, so it fits my needs?

Thanks in advance.

Davy

Hi Davy,

Not sure if both issues are related. Else create support ticket for the mail issue.

What si the setting of Business user group in General Settings?

/Robert

Thanks for the quick response Robert.
I will make a ticket for the error on mail function.

In the general settings a linked the field "business user group" to my created user group "business". But it's not linking to that.

Hi,

A user is associated with the registration usergroup when an account is created. The business usergroup is associated only when a business listing is created.
The email issue is related to the Joomla email configuration.

A user is associated with the registration usergroup when an account is created. The business usergroup is associated only when a business listing is created.

Can a created native joomla 'business usergroup' just have the same permissions as 'registered', or does it need a higher level of permissions, like say author.

Please can a dev respond to my question. I'm sure others getting to grips with the script in the future will have it too.
