J-BusinessDirectory - Slow Performance

I have the website https://bedrijfgids.be  I setup everything and at last I loaded +5000 company's. 

The performance is very slow, it take minutes before I even get a result. Off course in this modern time people don't wait. 

What can I do on my site to increase the performance ?

I undestand you know Wordpress well. But dont you have to set up Joomla/JBD ACL control if I was you with all these companies listed?

As now everyone can change/add listings data in the front end listings right now.

For better performance use some Joomla cache plugins when you come into production mode.

I agree that the page companies is running fast. But that was for testing this is actually Fabrik  and this page will be removed. 

Try a search on the homepage  and try the search "Loodgieter" than you see that the performance is terrible.

I see you remove the search now and have drop downs and its fast.

Instead of old Joomla school - Fabrik I would use Joomla Component Builder JCB thats really great! Built also by a Deutch guy and team :)

Did you use Jbd finder search plugin and Joomla smart search (Finder) system to make the JBD - Joomla advance search system working?

its working well and is very fast and if you index and config it well its very good. Also work with other search plugins except the Conferences plugin that CMS junkie not yet developed for that component.. :(

In order to increase the search performance, you can do the following.
1. Make the directory search module fields mandatory
2. Remove the search filter.
3. Activate cache.

In the 5.5.0 version that will be released soon, we will introduce also Elastic search which will boost the performance.
