J-BusinessDirectory - Still Unable to Manage companies

Support Forum

Hello,

I am still unable to manage companies in jbusiness directory.

I have the correct fields set up when I upload a cms and have been told in a previous post that it is caused by Jomsocial. I have the tried the fix that was sent to me last month but the fix for Jomsocial in this post no longer applicable. http://www.cmsjunkie.com/forum/unable-to-save-application-settings/?p=1

It says:

Solution Jomsocial:

You should edit {joomla}}/plugins/system/jomsocialupdate/jomsocialupdate.php
and change all uses of

$task = JRequest::getCmd( 'task' , '' );
with
$task =JFactory::getApplication()->input->get('task','').

However, the page doesn;t contain that coding anymore.

Could the fact that I am unable to properly manage the companies be a jquery issue and if so where would I go and how do I fix that?

Thank You,

Oops..I shoud say when I upload a csv file  (Not cms) Thank You.

Hi,

Can you provide us joomla admin access (using contact form)? We will check this and get back to you.

Hello,

I sent the log in information, Good Luck! I hope you are successful in finding out the issue.

Thank You,

We have not detected any conflict with other plugin.

The problems that we detected are:
1. All categories are not enabled. We have enabled a few of them.
2. All companies are empty. You can find attached a csv example if you're planning to import.

I received your file and it is much different than what I successfully used 10 months ago for the layout. I am going to reply to your email and send you a copy of the csv file that I used to use succesfully. It seems like it would take forever to manually re do everything to the layout you sent me.  I spent a lot of time to make sure that All my files are like this so I am sure that you must know of a much simpler way to convert the files to ones that work now.

Thanks

George,

Nevermind. I made an error in converting the file to csv. Thank you for your help and I am excited to being another step closer to getting this up and going!

Thank You again!

Hi Barry,

Not all fields are mandatory for importing business listings from csv. We have added more fields to be imported.

The mandatory fields are category, subcategory and business name.
