JHotelReservation Forum - Collect Deposit, charge remainder a few days before arrival

Is there a way for me to collect a deposit when someone books (say 30%), and then charge them the remainder 7days prior to their arrival automatically through the system?

You can collect a deposit(30%) through the credit card processor. The reminder(70%) is collected at checkout. 

Ok, but wouldn't that all be in one transaction on the same day?  Or is it possible for them to pay the deposit on one day, say the 1st of October, and then pay the remainder on the 20th of October?  If it is possible, how do you do this?  Does the system remember to email the guest on a certain date to remind them of their outstanding balance?

Yes, you can have the client pay on the 1st of October a percent and then collect the remainder on the 20th of October
It's up to the hotel admin to charge the remainder. All he/she has to do is checkout the reservation.
