I'm in the middle of implementing the workflow to monetize my business directory which I preloaded with 15,000 free (basic) listings.  While I find JBD incredibly rich in features and possibilities, I am struggling to implement a very simple monetization process that upgrades free business listings to paid business listings.

Right now the various pages provided seem to be rather disconnected. E.g. Adding a business shows a modal for login, the login page shows up and for most users a new user account needs to be regsitered. Then you have to (almost) start over again and use 'add business' again. In addition the payment process is currently after the completion of a business listing and the registration process...

As mentioned above - in my case - the majority of business owners that want to claim or add their business do NOT have an account yet hence I'd like to have a workflow similar to this:

- Click Add or Claim Business

- Register new account (which already logs you in)

- Choose package

- Pay for package

- Fill out business details

- Thank you page with link to dashboard and link to their business profile

- Email confirmations (and invoices) to be sent in the background

Not sure how or whether I am able to do this with the current 4.9.7 version and how to get at least somehow close to the above scenario?

This is critical - IMO - for commercial success of any business directory.

Any help appreciated.

I'd love some insight into this, too. Quite honestly, I just assumed this would be either part of the functionality, or able to create in some way.

Hi,

The full process on how a user can register and pay is presented on https://www.cmsjunkie.com/docs/jbusinessdirectory/pupolatingbusinessdir.html#enter-business-listing-on-front-end
1. The user selects a package
2. It registers or login
3. It completes the business listing details
4. The user makes the payment for the selected package.

When a business listing is claimed the process is interrupted by the user registration. We will improve these processes on the 5.0.2 version.

Looking forward to version 5.

As you mentioned, the current process gets interrupted by the login/registration process and the payment process happening AFTER the listing has been submitted.

After speaking to some of our customers and prospects the feedback was the current process is indeed to long and complicated.

Most business owners loved the approach, where they pay upfront, and let us first create a first version of their profile that they can get access to and edit afterwards if they want. Most business owners don't have access to high quality pictures, would know how to crop (so it looks good) or write business slogans or long (html) descriptions.

BUT: They have the money and are willing to pay for the service to get listed and access.

So ideally (to reiterate):

- Create login

- Choose package and pay

- Get notified when first paid version was created and put live by our staff (so they can login and make further edits as required).

For 'Claim business' the process is similar except that the claimed listing will be the base for the final listing that they upgraded to and paid for. And the claimed listing will already be tied to their login.

Hope this provides some useful input for the upcoming version. ;-)

I have the same feedback.

If you put the payment as a next step after selecting a package has another benefit... they are users who select a Premium package and they complete all the fields available like photos, video, social network and other, but those information will never be displayed because he is not intending to buy the package. By selecting a package with HTML description he can avoid the editor limit on description and include links in it.

This can be improved by adding to Marketing section an option to remember the users to complete their order if they have one.

Thanks.

Hi,

Strongly agree with brave_heart

1. Register
2. Pay
3. Our team contacts business to gather info from them and insert the data ourselves

Please bear in mind

Thanks in advance

Regards,

Juan
