I've setup the template and started to add listings, however; my site isn't featuring businesses, so I'm wondering how to change some of the titles and references which use the word "Business" specifically. Is there a translation feature I can access?
Also, I'm finding that some things are displaying without any ability to customize them. For example, general info is an h3 and I don't want it to be. Are there ways to override the template output?
Hi,
You can change all namings from language files. The language files are located under {joomla}/administrator/components/com_jbusinessdirectory/language.
All the views can be override on template level.
So the language files have to be hacked.
For the template override, I appreciate that explanation, but I need to know how. Is this in the documentation? What files am I overriding and where are they and where do I copy them to (assuming they go in my template directory)?
Thanks!
Hi,
You will have to create the directory /html/com_jbusinessdirectory/view_name and copy the files from tmpl folder there.
You can find more information on how it's done on: http://docs.joomla.org/How_to_override_the_output_from_the_Joomla!_core
Ok. Thanks for that explanation. Another issue I'm having is that the short description information is not appearing on the search results pages. How can I make sure that it displays properly?
Hi,
The short description appears only on style 2 results view.
1. If you're using Joomla 3.x, you don't hack language files... you would do your language overrides under 'Extensions'
2. I also have issues with template/html override, though. Normally (with other components) you don't need to edit the paths to headers or lib files.... here, it seems you do. I've created a support ticket, awaiting reply.
Example location to copy to: Root/Your Template/html/com_jbusinessdirectory/companies(etc)/default_style2.php
You will have to look at the files in your /views/xyz/tmpl folders and find the files corresponding to the changes you want to make. Hope that helps.
