Cache: Yes, I have both the following default Joomla caches turned on and they significantly improve JBD's speed:
- Joomla System Cache - Conservative Caching (On)
- Joomla System - Page Cache Plugin (On)
I ping-ponged the cache issue with CMS for about a year. I believe the default Joomla cache system is fully compatible with JBD now.
Troubleshooting: I think the method used by StackIdeas is the ideal model. When a bug is reported they fully investigate the issue. After their investigation, they will fix their own code or provide suggested code fixes for the developer of the conflicting extension to consider. They just don't simply point fingers. Their objective is to assure that their products are fully compatible with other extensions. For example, in the past, StackIdeas has provided me with code fixes for extensions such as JoomShaper, YooTheme, JoomlaArt, and likely CMS. Recently, StackIdeas found a JS conflict with JBD Campaigns with EasyDiscuss which has still not been addressed by CMS, as far as I know. I believe I just closed the ticket on the matter for lack of attention by CMS and uninstalled the plugin.
In normal conditions the loading time should be max 3 seconds.
When there are multiple extensions on a website and you have issues it is best to disable the extensions one by one and see which one is causing the issues.
