I have a website that deals with the promotion of the area, I use jevents to publish events and j-businessdirectory for business listing. As an event site they are on the first page in google search while as a business listing sometimes they don't even appear on the fifth page of search

The ranking in search engines depend on multiple factors: traffic, back linking, content - keywords.
If there are more website with the same targeted keywords, your pages will be displayed further.

You can contact a SEO expert to help you with your ranking.

This is interesting bcs you have a local content and that business directory should be on top of that local information. Did you add meta data to all different listings etc ?

Have you test to do something to improve the business listing SEO and did it have any effect?

You should be on top there with that key search word as you say if business directory handles the SEO mechanism for Google to index it correctly.. hmmm

Pls let us know and update. Very interesting.

this is the difference

Jevents page

jevents seo

J-Businessdirectory page

jbd

both were entered on the same day

Something is not rendered correctly on the page.
Please create a ticket about this and provide us access to your website.

Ok good to follow up this if also others have same problem I have not tested this yet.

Pls let us know what you did to make this work.

in my opinion a big mistake are the links generated by JBD
the same category page has several links, depending on how you get there. and this is not a good thing.

Correct link:https://www.maremmainfesta.it/attivita-in-maremma/tavole-calde-bistrot-merenderie

Links from JBD research:https://www.maremmainfesta.it/component/jbusinessdirectory/search?controller=search&option=com_jbusinessdirectory&categories=559%3B&view=search&categoryId=636&form_submited=1&orderBy=packageOrder+desc

Link from another JBD research:https://www.maremmainfesta.it/component/jbusinessdirectory/search?controller=search&option=com_jbusinessdirectory&categories=547%3B&view=search&categoryId=636&form_submited=1&orderBy=packageOrder+desc

Tha main page of JBD is: https://www.maremmainfesta.it/attivita-in-maremma?categoryType=1&view_style=1

there is something wrong

besides this we want to talk about the loading times?

/components/com_jbusinessdirectory/assets/css/jbd-style.css

/components/com_jbusinessdirectory/assets/libraries/babel/babel.min.js

/components/com_jbusinessdirectory/assets/css/common.css

I also don't understand the reason for inserting keywords. from search not worging and

Google does not use the keywords meta tag in web ranking

I created a test website to understand how much jbd can affect the performance of a website

with j-businessdirectory enabled

with j-businessdirectory component and modules disabled

When you add more functionality on the website it is normal for the page speed to decrease.
We recommend a general approach to optimize the page speed for the whole website.

During the development we have applied multiple performance improvements, and we will continue to do so.

For the URL's we recommend to associate a menu item with the search module to get better SEF results.
On the search module please make sure that the "Dynamic form action" is set to no.

Thank all for the feedback. We will keep improving the JBD extension.

I don't have any active search module.

.webp image support would be very helpful

if I have a category with a clean link like: https://www.maremmainfesta.it/attivita-in-maremma/tavole-calde-bistrot-merenderie
I expect that both from the component and from each module the link must always be the same not like now that depending on where I click there are different links and even more serious that they have a link that is practically useless for a search engine and all they are rel=canonical

When I show the website to clients, the first thing they look at is the search engine ranking.

J-Businessditectory is one of the most complete software I'm working with. Let's hope it gets fixed

I expect that both from the component and from each module the link must always be the same not like now that depending on where I click there are different links and even more serious that they have a link that is practically useless for a search engine and all they are rel=canonical

This is what I would like to have explained and improved too and hope we can get this to work as it should bcs this is a Google penalty SERP killer.

I don't know if it's just me but I have all the descriptions cut off even having set the limit to 10,000

If you are using the packages (payment plans), on each payment plan you have to set the maximum description.
The settings from the packages override the general settings.

Thanks for the help

Have you tried to make nice Joimla search url with JBD and it works?
